The Junk Map

Are you looking to find shops, designers, salvage yards or inspiration?

The Junk Map is a website which helps you find Australian businesses that sell used, recycled or upcycled goods for the home. The website is a valuable resource for sourcing recycled building materials such as timber and bricks, or salvaged architectural features like heritage windows. The Junk Map showcases inspirational homes and projects that repurpose elements. Started by Lara Knight, a journalist and graphic designer, the inspiration section is full of interesting content: a profile of a derelict shearing shed converted to a farm stay, a look inside an artist’s studio, and a quirky kitchen made from upcycled industrial fittings, to name a few. Each seller entry include photos, a write up, contact details, open hours and website details to save you time when you are knee deep in a sustainable retrofit.
