Ecodesign for cities and suburbs

This new book by internationally acclaimed urban planners Jonathan Barnett and Larry Beasley makes the case for a new way of imagining and creating cities to adapt to and prepare for climate change.

These new cities, which they model largely on Vancouver, come under the umbrella of ‘ecodesign’, and focus on the need for liveable and sustainable spaces for growing populations. Their ecodesign integrates the practice of planning and urban design with conservation, human wellbeing and resilience. The book is divided into six chapters and has illustrations throughout.
