Ecocultures: Blueprints for Sustainable Communities

This book showcases inspiring communities or ‘ecocultures’ that are exemplars of the art and science of sustainable living.

Case studies from both developed and developing countries including Australia, Brazil, Greenland, India and the UK, show how, based on these principles, communities have been able to increase social, ecological and personal wellbeing. Common themes include organising principles such as care for nature, respect for community and high ecological knowledge. It also highlights communities that are struggling in the transition to sustainable living.
